Ugh..suppers getting cold

Last night like so many was winding down without the old man(husband). He works long hours and I understand. Supper is very important to him and I usually can manage to work the timing out so that the whole meal isn't a waste but last night was a little longer than usual. I feeling a little aggravated
when..
the truck pulls in and  he makes his way to the door; his arms are full.
Awh...
What more could a girl want?
Well then she ought to be ashamed.

ps. I think Whitman's is the best! Every bit is American made all the way down to the packaging.

Sucker for a Cowboy

Oh my word...am I ever a sucker for a cowboy.
My cowboy at least...
Well as you can tell he's mess.
He has been asking for a vest and chaps since we took our trip to Tweetsie Railroad. I put him off and told him Mama could make those they where way too expensive. I thought he'd lose that idea in a day or too.
not...
I honestly thought I could pick up a pattern and make some out of some faux leather material I had my eye on for another project and we would both be happy and I would still come out to the good. Except for the fact I can find all kind of cowgirl costume patterns but not cowboys.
and no...
I haven't looked very hard.
and yes..
I could figure it out without a pattern,
but
We hit Mt. Airy for our favorite consignment shops and what did we find but a nice button-up shirt
(he really likes button-up shirts)
and this brown little vest. Oh, he was so happy. Proud even, I really thought I'd got this one covered for a few dollars.
We made our purchase and out the door we went; when he said,
" Mama, don't forget I need those other things."
Well...long story short..
There he is my favorite cowboy with his real cowboy hat he got at Christmas
( he had faithfully wore a toy version from Walmart for two years...everywhere)
and his vintage outfit.

Mornin' Muffins

Nothing so good as banana muffins in the morning!
You can see they didn't last long.

Tear the woodpile down 'n stack it up

Not bad for and hour's work

They was a stackin' while I was totin' it in.
My good little helpers.
Wheww..glad that's done!

Link Union

Good mornin'
I just have to share a new little bluegrass band with you! Anybody that knows me knows I'm a big bluegrass fan. I am also a big Marty Stewart fan and just have to watch him every Saturday on the RFDTV channel. After the Marty Stewart Show there is also the Midwest Country Show; this is sometime a bit simple and it is very local artists most the time. Sometimes I don't prefer it but I was so excited to hear the band Link Union this past weekend.
I just love 'em!
I wish the whole show would have been just them!
There young, cute, and absolutely talented!
I've liked them on the facebook in hopes that I'll know if they every get anywhere close to Stuart, Virginia.
So I can't help myself but share them...

This video is from 2011, they are older and there music has gained so much more depth.
This is also on of my all time favorite songs.

And one of my Marty Stewart ~Superlative favorites...
