Thank you Steve. You do come up with magnifical music words! You have a great week, also.
DeleteI love that one too, Steve!
DeleteI do love the Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy and US Armed Forces guitar, but you know The Airborne has always ROCKED! Daddy needs to see this. Great tribute!
ReplyDeleteYeah, He needs to but probably never will. I will tell you, Yesterday, after ya'll had to leave his Airborne Yearbooks were pulled out and he told a few colorful stories with that glisten in his eye..lol...
DeleteOh my gosh, those first three songs remind me so much of my mother. She always played Glenn Miller on her stereo (phonograph player). She loved her music a lot. Oh thanks so much I almost felt like she was around once again. You're too sweet. Oh wow, even a solo by Gene Krupa I think his name was, right? The other songs are new too, but I enjoyed the first three the most. Thanks for joining us and the great picks for today and sharing. ;)
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad these songs brought good memories to you. I love big band music. our local am radio station use to do different genres each day and one of the days was big band. I love it. I hope your week is wonderful!
DeleteGlen Miller once played in my hometown of Bedford UK. There's a plaque in our town centre celebrating the event. Great choices & Happy Music Monday
ReplyDeleteThat's very cool. Glen Miller..what a talent. Happy Monday!

LOL..I guess me neither. Have a great week!
DeleteThis is a lovely tribute to the veterans.
ReplyDeleteNot related, but your post reminded me: On Memorial Day I stepped outside at noon and coincidentally our neighbor stepped out then too to play Taps on his trumpet (we live in the country). It struck a chord and almost made me cry it was so beautiful and unexpected. Music does serve its purpose over and over again. :)
Awe..that would be an incredibly moving moment. Thanks for sharing with me.
DeleteHave a great weekend!
