It was surprising to me, too. I didn't know, I just ran across these videos of him playing the bagpipes. I thought it was pretty neat.

Thanks you, Poppy!
DeleteGlen Campbell and bagpipes..WHOA!
ReplyDeleteDueling banjos is just classic!
I was impressed with his daughter in the first video and in the second it was neat seeing Carl Jackson's talents on the banjo really showcased but Glenn Campbell on the bagpipes really sealed the deal. Thanks for stopping by!
DeleteLove these! Mondays are not always the most fun but nothing like a little music to brighten the day.

Is Ashley Glenn's daughter? She has a lovely voice. Now, Glenn had a very smooth voice. I had no idea Campbell could play the bagpipes. How cool! Great "freebie" choices to get your toe tapping to on Monday's Music Moves Me! ;)
ReplyDeleteYes, Ashley is Glen Campbell's daughter..I thought she was quite good. I honestly did not know about the bagpipes, either. Youtube pulled up the videos of him playing them when I was listening to the first video and I thought it was "too cool" not to share. We have bright sunny skies here today..wishing you a wonderful day, as well.
DeleteI didn't know Glen played the bag pipes either. Very cool. And who doesn't love Emmylou?
ReplyDeleteThe video of Ashley Campbell and Carl Jackson was a suggestion for me from Youtube and I do love the song they were performing but while I was listening to it all the bells and whistles went off as to who she was. I think Glen Campbell was such a "real" artist; he always seems to be enjoying himself. I read a few of the comments on Youtube about Glen Campbell's talent in reference to the bagpipes and some of them were quite snide but if you watch him playing them he does it because he enjoys it. What can you really say about Emmylou Harris that hasn't been said...she a legend.
DeleteI hope you week has been great..I've been missing you...love ya'll.
p.s. Carl Jackson's no slacker on that banjo, either.
ReplyDeleteBetter late than never. Hi, thanks for stopping by, and wow look at all the selections you have. I haven't seen some of these guys in years. I didn't know any of that stuff about Glen Campbell. He sure tried hard to stay in the lime light didn't he. Well, have a great weekend, and I hope you stop by this Monday too!
