About Me

My name is Lynn and Southern Direction is my place to share my family life, recipes, decorating, my love of the outdoors and my love of God. 

My family is an evolution of a blended family. My husband with his two children and me with my four make up my family. We live in Patrick County, Virginia just nestled at the foot of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Four of our children have found their wings and have flown from our nest. I am still fortunate to have two still at home. I love to share my family pictures and memories.

What you won't find at this blog is an expert. I am not a interior decorator, chef, photographer, or any other educated title. I am a member of the regular blue collar workforce, a textile worker at a local factory but that doesn't stop the kitchen creation, gardening, fun sewing and making all things DIY. I'm a lover of the rusty and crusty" and all things vintage. I have been blessed  with many nuggets of down home goodness from a southern lifestyle, thanks to Mama, good family and friends.

So pour a cup of coffee or grab a glass of sweet ice tea, sit down and stay awhile.

    Hi Lynn, I absolutely love your site. You have such wonderful talent with your writing, ideas, recipes, and crafts. Great job! I am going to try the fried icecream cake sometime. I love the old hymns of the faith too.
